Health & Safety Training at Takoradi Site

On the 8th and 9th October, members of the Takoradi European site team were taken through a First Aid and Emergency Preparedness Training course by Mariam Sai and Naa Odoi.  The training schedule included sessions on emergency preparedness and basic 1st aid, as well as covering the benefits of promoting a healthy workforce and increasing the team’s awareness of HIV/AIDs in Ghana.

Health & Safety Training at Garu-Tempane

As the preparation works at Garu begin to increase, members of the site workforce have undergone First Aid and Emergency Preparedness Training by Mariam Sai and Naa Odoi.  Taking place over 2 days the aim of the training was to increase the knowledge and awareness level in: emergency preparedness, basic first aid, first aider and the transmission of illness and methods of Assessment.

Ghana Health Service – HR Workshop for Fomena and Kumawu District Hospitals

The Ghana Heath Service (GHS) and NMS Infrastructure organised a 4-day HR workshop to discuss the human resources plan for the new district hospitals being built in Fomena and Kumawu, in order to ensure that the hospitals are well staffed and operated to an optimum level as soon as they become operational.

The workshop, including field visits, was well attended and proved a success.

Familiarization Training of New Hospital Equipment

A 4-week training programme is taking place at the old Dodowa District Hospital in order to induct the 157 clinical staff to the new hospital equipment they’ll be using when they move to the new hospital, to promote safe and effective use of the medical equipment and to understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user manuals and maintenance requirements.

The launch took place on 23 June where Dr. Margaret Chebere (Ghana Health Service Head of HR) and the District Assembly Chief Executive Hon. Emmanuel Lartey, among others, were in attendance.

Feedback from the training has been extremely encouraging from all the trainees.
