With four hospital sites now active, the on site workforce has reached nearly 400 people. A mixture of international staff support the mainly Ghanaian teams of carpenters, engineers, labourers, electricians and landscapers. As the scale of the build grows, so will the workforce, boosting local employment and local economies.
Significant progress has been made on the Fomena District Hospital Site. The site’s major earthworks have now been completed, while the foundations for the traditional health and medicine building are also done. Progress has been made on erecting the steelwork for this building and work has also begun on the hospital staff accommodation.
Google Earth’s satellite has recently passed over the Dodowa District Hospital Site and the layout and progress on the ground is clear for all to see. The sheer scale of the site is clearly visible from the image below and if you visit the Google Earth page and zoom in, you can just about make out the room layouts of the hospital staff accommodation.
