The site is generally centred on 663779.43E, 694317.86E (Ghana WGS84, UTM Zone 30) and sits to the south-west of the town of Fomena, capital of Adansi North, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The District site plan indicates a stream (Benmen Stream) running along the southern boundary of the site. The 1:50,000 mapping also confirms this stream and a number of additional streams within and around the perceived site boundary. To the eastern boundary is the existing nurses training school and a number of semi-constructed reinforced concrete structures (one of which is in use as nurses accommodation and the other is derelict and overgrown). To the south and west are open fields and agricultural land. The existing township of Fomena lies to the north-east of the site. The area of proposed site has been calculated at 32.80 Acres (13.27 Hectares).
